MELROSE — Broken Leg Productions will present the magical, family-friendly show “Aladdin JR,” Friday and Saturday at 1 p.m. and 7:30 p.m., and Sunday at 1 p.m. at the First United Methodist Church, 645 Main St. Please note that the space is not air-conditioned or handicapped accessible.
Diego Clark, a Lynn resident, is a member of the cast, most of whom live on the North Shore.
The story has been given the royal treatment. Aladdin and his three friends, Babkak, Omar and Kassim, are down on their luck until Aladdin discovers a magic lamp and a genie who has the power to grant three wishes. Wanting to earn the respect of the princess, Jasmine, Aladdin embarks on an adventure that will test his will and his moral character. With expanded characters, new songs, and more thrills, this adaptation will open up a whole new world.
The production is led by artistic director Adam Schuler, music director Kali Patterson, choreographer Sarah DiTonno, production manager Alison Butts, and interns Meagan Conlan and Zach Stransick.
Tickets — $15 for adults, $12 for students and seniors — will be available at the door and online at brokenlegproductions.com/tickets/. For more information, go to the BLP Presents “Aladdin JR” Facebook event page at facebook.com.
