The Lynn Parks and Recreation Summer Basketball League continued Thursday night at the hoops courts at English High School. The East Lynn branch of the league played five games across its three divisions.
In the elementary school division, it was Mennino Construction that grabbed a 31-21 win over Old Mill Realty. Xavier Abreu scored 12 points for Mennino Construction and Tyler Guy contributed with 10 points. Donnell Williams led Old Mill Realty with six points.
In the middle school division, D’Andreo Brothers took down Lazy Dog Sports Bar with a 67-64 win in double overtime. Kiero Rodriguez was the high scorer for Lazy Dog Sports Bar with 23 points.
Also in middle school action, John J. Walsh earned a 65-33 win over Lynn Housing Authority. Jeury Barbosa scored 12 points and Kylia Reynoso added 11 points for John J. Walsh. Lynn Housing Authority was led by 12 points from Lionel Rivera and eight points from Hakim Badmus.
In the high school division, EZ Landscaping earned a close 48-46 win over North Shore Heating Supply.
Also in the high school division, Solimine Funeral Homes grabbed a 57-46 win over John’s Fuel Services. Dyrrell Rucker was the leading scorer with 21 points for John’s Fuel Services. Taj Purter scored 23 points to lead Solimine Funeral Homes and Angel Soto added 20 points.
The league’s championship games will be played Thursday at Marian Gardens and they’ll be moved indoors to Fecteau-Leary in the case of bad weather.
The basketballs used for this year’s league were donated in honor of former English High boys basketball and baseball coach Ron Bennett.
