PEABODY — Join the Accidentally on Purpose Comedy Improv Troupe at the Northeast Arc’s Black Box Theater, 22 Foster St., on Saturday, July 28.
Doors open at 6 p.m. with performances from 7-9 p.m. The style of Accidentally on Purpose is similar to the TV show “Whose Line is it Anyway?” complete with audience interaction. Come with suggestions for the group, then sit back and watch the laughter and madness ensue as the troupe puts your suggestions to work in hilarious improvisational scenes. Audience members contribute ideas and suggestions to the troupe, and (if they desire) can join the comedians onstage to participate. The results are unpredictable, timely, high risk and often brilliant.
Comedians Jason Merrill and Jim Ruberti are the opening acts. Jason impresses audiences with his real-life experiences and finds the humor in everyday life. Jim bases his comedy on his former jobs as a high school teacher and disciplinary dean.
Tickets for this 21+ show are $20 each ($18 for seniors and students). There will be a cash bar. This special evening of improv and comedy benefits the outfitting of the new Black Box Theater at the ArcWorks Community Arts Center. Buy your tickets here.
