The Lynn Woods Summer Cross Country Series saw its largest turnout of the year so far Wednesday night, as 270 runners participated across the three races.
In the 1.54-mile kids race, Lynn’s Eamonn McHale took the top spot with a time of 10:41. He was followed closely by Swampscott’s Liam Powell in second place (10:45). Lynnfield’s Iain McCarthy finished in third place (13:48), while Lynn’s Cierra Johnson (14:19) and Swampscott’s Tobias Faeskorn (14:32) finished in fourth and fifth place, respectively.
In the 2.45-mile race down the Steel Goat Path, Michael Mansfield of Saugus was the top finisher with a time of 16:43. Another Saugus native, Dillon Duval, finished in second place (17:17), while a pair of Lynners, Michael Carroll (17:25) and Adnan Jalal (17:43) finished in third and fourth place, respectively. Marblehead’s Sarah Bitterman (18:00) rounded out the top five.
And in the 5.5-mile race, dubbed “Tour de Lynn Woods,” Lynn’s Matt Viega finished in first place with a time of 41:29. Jacob Johns of North Andover finished in second place (42:43) and Chelsea’s Jose LeClerc finished just one second behind him in third place (42:44). Adam Cook of Melrose (42:53) and Junior Mejia of Lynn (43:10) finished in fourth and fifth place, respectively.
The Lynn Woods Summer Cross Country Series will continue every Wednesday until September 26.
