LYNN — A teenager who allegedly fled the state after the shooting death of a 25-year-old Lynn resident in June was arraigned in Lynn District Court Tuesday.
Nathaniel Pagan, 16, was transported from New York Tuesday morning where he was arrested for allegedly killing 25-year-old Romel Danis. Pagan entered a not guilty plea to charges of first degree murder and was ordered held without bail by Judge Howard Hogan.
Pagan will return to court on Aug. 20 for a probable cause hearing.
Another man, Victor Figueroa, of 39 Baker St., Lynn, was previously arraigned on first degree murder charges in connection with Danis’ death. He also pleaded not guilty.
Danis was the victim of a triple shooting on Lawton Avenue in which two other men suffered gunshot wounds. He was walking home from a party, which police were responding to for noise complaints, when the shooting occurred.
Surveillance video caught on a Lawton Avenue neighbor’s security camera was obtained by Danis’ family and shows two suspects firing their weapons and then fleeing the scene. Responding officers could be seen arriving minutes later to find Danis’ body and attending to the other victims.
