LYNN — A 32-year-old Lynn man was arrested after allegedly assaulting two people while intoxicated on Tuesday night.
David Wiley was charged with assault with a dangerous weapon, assault and battery on a child with injury, assault and battery on a police officer and assault and battery.
Shortly after 8 p.m., Lynn Police responded to the area of Williams Avenue and Dana Street on a report of people arguing, Lynn Police Lt. Michael Kmiec said.
Police initially spoke with a juvenile, a 14-year-old male, who reported an altercation with Wiley over a bicycle on a sidewalk. The teenager reported Wiley punched him after an argument, which caused a cut above his eye, Kmiec said.
The injured juvenile was treated at the scene, Kmiec said.
After meeting the first victim, officers were flagged down by another group, who reported an altercation with Wiley. The group included a 34-year-old woman who reported Wiley had brandished a knife at her, Kmiec said.
Kmiec said Wiley may have been intoxicated, which probably led to the altercations. Police recovered a knife at the scene.
During the booking process, Wiley spit at an officer, which led to a subsequent charge of assault and battery on a police officer, Kmiec said.
