Arrests

John Amirault, of 46 Brookline St., was arrested and charged with receiving stolen property, larceny over $250, carrying a dangerous weapon, unlicensed operation of a motor vehicle, failure to stop, breaking and entering, destruction of property, larceny by check over $1,200, passing a false check, assault and battery and assault and battery with a dangerous weapon on Monday at 3:23 p.m.

Santina Lewey, of 12 Pope St., Salem, was arrested and charged with shoplifting over $250 on Monday at 4:13 p.m.

Complaints

A caller reported a truck appears to be leaking fuel at Waterside Road and West Shore Drive on Monday at 8:25 a.m. Officer will check it out.

Caller reported driving by a pale blue suitcase on Monday at 12:28 p.m. at Prospect and Commercial streets and thought it was odd that it would be on the curb. Officer checked and said it was just an empty suitcase that had been on the street for a few days. Highway Department asked to pick it up.

Caller reported what he called gunshots or construction equipment on Monday at 1:04 p.m. at Ocean and Harbor avenues. Police check found a construction crew was in the area firing nails into concrete.

Caller reported she received a scam call from 607-595-1589. The message said she had four outstanding allegations from the local police department. Caller just wanted police to know.

Party reported he saw a man yell at a woman on Monday at 5:37 p.m. at Sewall and Bowden streets. The man left in a red painters truck and the mother appeared to be walking toward Bowden Street. He just wanted to make sure she was OK. Police did not find anyone fitting the description.

Workers at Dunkin’ Donuts on Pleasant Street reported they were threatened by a male customer on Monday at 8:23 p.m. who got angry because staff were unable to make the beverage his girlfriend wanted. He told the staff he would meet them when they get off work at 9 p.m. Police spoke to workers, suspect left the area and employees left for the night without issue.

Walk-in reported a Jeep followed him and threw water bottles at his car on Monday at 11:12 p.m. The bottles hit his car, but no damage was reported.

Complaints

A caller reported a fight or disturbance near Wilson and Lennox roads at 1:22 a.m. on Sunday but when responding officers arrived they spoke with residents who confirmed it was a very loud telephone conversation.

A caller reported a person passed out in their vehicle in front of the DCR Bath House, Causeway, at 10:03 p.m. on Sunday.

A caller reported a gray sedan parked on Ward Road with one occupant appearing suspicious at 5:50 a.m. on Tuesday but when responding officers arrived there was no vehicle to locate.

Accidents

Patrick M. Groom, 32, of 913 Broadway, Apt. 2, Chelsea, received a summons on Tuesday at 12:32 a.m. for a motor vehicle accident near Mountain Avenue. He was charged with operating a vehicle after license suspension for OUI liquor, and negligent operation of a motor vehicle.

A report of a motor vehicle accident with property damage on Copeland Circle on Monday at 6:16 p.m.

A report of a hit and run motor vehicle accident at Market Basket on Squire Road on Monday at 9:24 p.m.

Assault

A report of an assault at Malden Street and Asti Avenue on Monday at 4:50 p.m.

Complaints

A report of a loud stereo on Taft Street on Monday at 12:09 a.m.; a report of suspicious activity on Monday at 1:58 p.m.; a report of loud music on Fenno Street on Tuesday at 12:32 a.m.

Arrest

Cheryl Messina, 54, was arrested on two warrant charges of unlicensed operation of a motor vehicle and possession of a class E drug, and charged with giving a false name to a police officer while driving a motor vehicle at 2:15 p.m. on Monday.

A report of an unwelcome guest at 28 Claremont Terrace at 4:48 a.m. on Monday.

A report of suspicious activity at 211 Essex St. at 11:10 a.m. on Monday; at 68 Worcester Ave. at 1:26 p.m. on Monday.

Theft

A report of a larceny at 74 Rockland St. at 12:38 p.m. on Monday.

A report of motor vehicle theft at 130 Eastman Ave. at 2:38 p.m. on Monday.
