LYNN — A 32-year-old Peabody man was arrested and charged with robbing a Boston Street bank earlier this month.
Police believe Kenyatta Brown is responsible for robbing three banks since December.
Brown was charged with possession of a counterfeit note. He also had warrants for three counts of armed robbery, armed assault to rob and assault with a dangerous weapon.
Shortly before 11:30 a.m. on May 12, a man, whom police later identified as Brown, walked into the Salem Five at 35 Boston St. and slipped a threatening note to a 28-year-old female bank teller, Lynn Police Lt. Michael Kmiec said.
No weapons were shown and the bank teller turned over an undisclosed amount of cash to the suspect, Kmiec said.
Police spotted Brown on Saturday night on Pinkham Street and he was arrested on Union Street on several warrants. He had been identified through the use of surveillance photos, Kmiec said.
Brown is also a suspect in a Salem bank robbery, which occurred days after the robbery in Lynn, Kmiec said.
Brown was arrested and charged with robbing Santander Bank, located at 35 Exchange St., last December. In that instance, he turned himself into police.
