Calling all pint-sized actors: A Marblehead theater is casting kids for a new show

MARBLEHEAD — Theatre of Light will audition young actors from the North Shore for 10 lead roles in the production of “Trouble in the Garden.”

The professional children’s theatre will audition actors between the ages of 7 to 13 on Sunday, May 6 from 2 p.m. to 4:30 p.m. at the North Shore Children’s Theatre’s brand new Treehouse Theatre on Tioga Way.

“Trouble in the Garden” is a comedy with a serious message that imparts the importance of tolerance of other people and the results of bullying, according to a statement from the theatre company.

The play uses comical antics to bring an awareness to how we relate to people who look or act differently than us and the detrimental effects of being mean to others. The play also demonstrates that putting aside differences and joining together in unity can defeat the villain.

During the rehearsal process, the actors will receive professional training in acting, theatre techniques, character development, speech, and diction.

To schedule an audition appointment time or for more information, call Theatre of Light at 978-210-9818 or email [email protected]

Rehearsals begin on May 9 and the performances will be scheduled at the end of June.
