School closings, parking bans for Wednesday, March 21

The fourth nor’easter of March is expected to storm into the North Shore by mid-day Wednesday. As of Tuesday afternoon, few area schools announced any closures or early dismissals. Parking, however, is a different story, with some already announcing bans. Here’s the latest, updated at 6:20 p.m. Tuesday.

 

School openings/closings

  • Lynn schools will be open.
  • Nahant has canceled Wednesday afternoon and evening activities
  • Revere schools will be open, according to the Fire Department.
  • Saugus has canceled all Wednesday afternoon activities and municipal meetings.
  • UMass Boston canceled all activities and events after 1 p.m. Wednesday.

 

Parking Bans

  • Lynn will begin a parking ban at 3 p.m. Wednesday. Residents can park in school lots.
  • Peabody will begin a parking ban at  7 a.m. Wednesday.
  • Revere will begin a parking ban at 10 a.m. Wednesday.

 

Transit and travel

  • The MBTA will run regular subway and ferry service. Buses may operate on a snow route.
  • The Ride will operate on a normal schedule.
  • The Commuter Rail will operate on a regular schedule.
  • Logan Airport will be open, but check with your airline for any news on delays or cancellations.
