LYNN — Two convenience stores were robbed in the city over the weekend, one at gunpoint.
Lynn Police responded to Amigos Market, at 355 Summer St., shortly after 8 p.m. Friday and learned that a masked man came into the store with a handgun and demanded money, Lynn Police Lt. Michael Kmiec said.
The man, who was also wearing a black hat and hoodie, pointed a handgun at the two clerks, a 23-year-old man and 37-year-old woman. The suspect took off with an undetermined amount of cash, Kmiec said.
On Sunday night, Crown Variety was robbed by an unarmed masked man. Police responded to the Lewis Street store around 11:18 p.m. and learned that a suspect demanded money from a male clerk, who refused to hand over the cash, Kmiec said.
When the clerk didn’t comply, the suspect went behind the counter, opened the register, took the money and ran out of the store. No weapon was shown during the robbery, Kmiec said.
Both incidents are under investigation.
