After a day off because of winter weather, the 41st Annual Lynn Elementary Basketball Tournament resumed Friday night at Pickering Middle School.
The day’s first game, a Division 1 boy’s battle, saw the Harrington Hornets take on the Ingalls Rockets. Ingalls took a 20-point lead into the half and was able to coast to the 32-17 victory. Ingalls was paced by Canei McLeod (12 points) and Louis Ledesma (11). Harrington’s high scorer was Camron Thornton with 10.
Up next was another D1 boys contest, pitting Drewicz against Ford. Drewicz made a run down the stretch to cut the lead to three but eventually fell 30-25 to the Falcons. Ford’s high scorers were Travis Sanchez with 14, Eddy Garcia with nine and Isaiah Eze with seven. Javian Martinez turned in a stellar performance for Drewicz, scoring 14, including 10 in the second half.
The third game was a Division 2 girls match between Lincoln-Thomson and Sisson. The one-two punch of sisters Brooke (10 points) and Bre Ann (eight points) Moloney prices to be too much as Sisson prevailed, 22-6. Dayana Hios Edwards and Leah Pinero were the high scorers for L-T. Sisson takes on Lynn Woods next Thursday at 7 p.m.
The day’s final game was another D2 girls game pitting undefeated Sewell-Anderson against Shoemaker. The Lady Bobcats were able to secure the 26-6 win behind 14 points from Neveah Eth and 10 from Jomary Lora.
Shoemaker’s high scorers were Kaydee Rouse and Gianna Parker.
Play resumes with a slate of seven games Saturday at 10 a.m. at Pickering Middle School.
