Wednesday night’s nor’easter didn’t create the the same severe coastal damage as the weekend’s storm, but it did manage to strand thousands of North Shore residents without power.
More than 300,000 customers across the state were left in the dark during the deep night of the storm. By Thursday morning, National Grid reported more 4,192 customers in Lynn, 3,374 in Revere, and 1,790 in Saugus and 110 in Swampscott still waiting for the lights to pop back on.
Police across the region were also responding to calls of wires down in Lynn and the surrounding communities. National Grid warned residents to consider any downed wire as dangerous.
In the wake of the latest #MA & #RI storm, we urge customers to put safety first. Consider all downed wires to be energized and dangerous as they may be in contact with energized electric wires that are not within your view. To report downed wires, please call us: 1-800-465-1212.
