LYNN — Dancing, margaritas, and mouth-watering appetizers will be available this weekend to help raise money for Lynn’s own semi-pro soccer team.
Lynn United FC will host its Winter Ball on Saturday at 7 p.m. at Trio’s Mexican Grill at 70 Market St., in Lynn as a fundraiser for their upcoming spring season in the United Premier Soccer League (UPSL).
All proceeds made during the event will go directly toward the team. The Winter Ball will host Boston’s own DJ Social to help get attendees grooving on the dance floor. According to a press release from Eric Moreno, CEO of Lynn United FC, the average semi-pro team spends between $11,000 and $12,000 per year.
“We have been around as a team for three years, however our prestigious level went up this year so we’re now considered a semi-pro team,” said Diana Moreno, Sponsorship Event Planner for the team and wife of Eric Moreno.
Along with the Winter Ball, the Morenos are offering sponsorship slots to help raise money. Tickets for the event are limited and will not be available at the door.
