LYNN — A snow emergency has been declared in the city and a parking ban will take effect at 10 p.m. Saturday.
Cars must be removed from all public streets and sidewalks. All of the city school parking lots are available for parking, as well as all of the city lots with the exception of the Johnson Street lot, according to the Office of Emergency Management.
Residents can face a $170 tow fee, $150 ticket, and a $35-a-day storage fee for failure to comply with the parking ban, according to Department of Public Works.
Once the parking ban concludes, cars must be removed from these lots promptly to avoid tow.
The National Weather Service has declared a winter storm warning from 7 p.m. Saturday through 7 a.m. Sunday. Total snow accumulations of four to seven inches are expected.
The snow won’t be around long. Monday’s high temperature is expected to be 48 degrees with 60 plus degrees on Tuesday and Wednesday.
Lynn Public Schools are closed next week for the February school vacation.
