PEABODY — Malden’s loss looks to be Peabody’s gain.
The Peabody Area Chamber of Commerce’s board of directors have hired Jenna Coccimiglio as their new executive director. Coccimiglio, who has led the Malden Chamber since 2013, will start her new position on March 1.
“We’re pleased to welcome Jenna to the Peabody Area Chamber of Commerce team,” said Christopher Feazel, the board’s chairman and a district sales coordinator for Aflac. “With her years of chamber and management experience, we’re confident that she will have a positive impact in shaping the growth of our business members.”
The chamber role will be a return to working in Peabody for Coccimiglio. Before joining the Malden Chamber, she worked for the Simon Property Group, including a position as an area guest service manager for the Northshore Mall.
“I’m excited about the opportunity to be instrumental in promoting business growth in the greater business community and look forward to fulfilling the needs of our current membership while contributing some fresh ideas,” Coccimiglio said. “As a current business owner myself, I believe passionately in the mission of the chamber and its capacity to enhance the economic and business climate of its community.”
As the executive director, Coccimiglio will be responsible for overseeing the daily operations of the chamber, including financial management, event coordination, and acquisition of new members.
Coccimiglio takes the reins from Deanne Healey, who was at the Peabody chamber for 16 years before taking a position as a vice president with Salem Five bank. In addition to working with new and established businesses during her time with the chamber, Healey worked closely with the city on events such as the pop-up pubs in Peabody Square.
Mayor Edward A. Bettencourt Jr. said he looks forward to the city maintaining a close relationship with the chamber under Coccimiglio’s leadership.
“I want to congratulate and welcome Jenna to the city of Peabody,” said the mayor. “I’m looking forward to working with her to continue the important work of the chamber of commerce in making Peabody a great place to live and work. Some tremendous things are happening in Peabody, and Jenna’s strong background and experience will be a great addition to our efforts.”
