Revere 58, Peabody 43
The Tanners fell in a big deficit early, with the Patriots taking a 16-2 lead in the first quarter. But a couple of strong quarters got Peabody back into the game, as it cut the lead to three. Revere turned up the heat in the final eight minutes to seal the win.
Catherine Manning, the only returning starter from last year’s team, led the way with 13 points and seven rebounds. Jordan Muse added seven points, five steals and five rebounds, and Serena Laro chipped in with eight points and seven rebounds.
“We played two good quarters, but you have to play four quarters, unfortunately,” Peabody coach Stan McKeen said. “We got it down to three, and then we made some poor decisions and Revere caught fire. They’re as good a team as we’ll face all season, though.”
For the Patriots, Valentina Pepic logged a double-double with 17 points and 15 rebounds.
Next up for the Tanners is their home opener Monday against Danvers.
