So much for easing into the winter season.
The National Weather Service has issued a winter storm warning for much of eastern Massachusetts. The storm should bring four to seven inches and create difficult travel conditions, according to the alert issued late Friday afternoon.
The service’s latest expected snowfall map (above) shows seven inches across most of the North Shore.
Is that right? Local meteorologists have offered their own nuanced maps, many of which show lower snowfall totals along the coast. Here are just a few:
