LYNN — A couple was robbed at gunpoint by two men on Neptune Boulevard Saturday night. One of the victims was pistol whipped and at least one shot was fired during the incident.
Police responded to the robbery shortly before 11:30 p.m., and learned that a 27-year-old man and his 26-year-old girlfriend were walking to their apartment building at 160 Neptune Blvd. when they were confronted by two men with handguns, Lynn Police Lt. Michael Kmiec said.
The male victim was pistol whipped by the two suspects and a fight ensued. At least one shot was fired during the incident, but nobody was hit, Kmiec said.
The woman had her purse and a gold bracelet stolen and her boyfriend had his cell phone taken. The man was treated at Salem Hospital for his injuries, Kmiec said.
Kmiec said both suspects had hoodies tied tight over their faces during the robbery. No arrests have been made and the incident is under investigation.
