St. Mary’s and Lynn Tech won their Thanksgiving-Eve games tonight — the Spartans with a last-minute touchdown and the Tigers fairly comfortably.
Calvin Johnson scored on a 10-yard run with 26 seconds left to go in the game that, with James Brumfield’s 2-point conversion, lifted the Spartans to a 28-21 win over Bishop Fenwick at Manning Field.
Fenwick’s Chrys Wilson scored the third of his three touchdowns with just over two minutes to go in the game to give Fenwick a 21-20 lead. But the Spartans marched down the field for the final touchdown in the final two minutes.
At Austin Prep, Steffan Gravely ran for 106 yards and scored on a 65-yard punt return A Lynn Tech defeated the Cougars, 27-6.
St. Mary’s finishes its season at 11-1 while Tech moved to 11-1 as well. The Tigers are back in action a week from Thursday in the state vocational final at Nashoba Tech.
