MEDFORD — Medford’s two mayoral candidates will square off in a debate hosted by the Medford Chamber of Commerce just days before the final municipal election.
First-term Mayor Stephanie M. Burke is seeking reelection and political newcomer David McKillop Sr. is the challenger. Both will address topics and issues based on questions submitted by local residents on Thursday, November 2.
The mayoral debate will be in Tufts University’s Cohen Auditorium, 40 Talbot Ave. David Kennedy, a Medford resident, will moderate the event, which will be run from 6 p.m. to 8:15 p.m.
The public is encouraged to submit questions the moderator will submit to the candidates. Questions may be submitted by email to: [email protected].
Burke was first elected in November 2015 when she defeated then-City Councilor Robert Penta in the general election. She replaced former longtime Mayor Michael McGlynn, who did not run for reelection after serving 14 terms.
