The mayor’s office will host a meeting later this month at City Hall for anyone whose property was damaged by last weekend’s flood.
Representatives from city and the Massachusetts Emergency Management Agency (MEMA) will be on hand to answer questions about how to get relief.
“We want to ensure residents and business owners who were adversely affected by last weekend’s flash flood are made aware of all the resources available to them,” said Mayor Judith Flanagan Kennedy in a statement. “The city, through our Inspectional Services and Emergency Management departments, is happy to have the cooperation of MEMA as we support those in need of assistance.”
The downpour flooded Munroe Street and pushed parked vehicles onto sidewalks. Water covered the Lynnway, Commercial, Boston, and Alley streets and brought Saturday morning traffic to a halt, according to the city.
Flood victims are asked to bring their insurance information, any pending claims, estimates and photos of damage.
Officials do not know how many homes and businesses were impacted. But John Krol, the mayor’s chief of staff, said if 25 or more homes or five or more businesses sustained damage, they may be eligible for MEMA assistance.
The session will be held on Tuesday, Oct. 17 in Room 302 from 6 to 8 p.m.
