Tom Keenan, a Swampscott resident, donated his massive pumpkin to the Swampscott Police Station for everyone to view on Sunday. Weighing in at 1,284.5 pounds, the pumpkin came in ninth place at the Topsfield Fair this year. In past years, Keenan’s pumpkins have been a big hit with families to bring the kids and take pictures. Come on down and check it out, the Swampscott Police Department said in a Facebook post.
Police are also inviting any child interested in helping to name the pumpkin to come down to the police station and fill out an entry slip. Entries will be accepted until Friday, Oct. 13 and a winner will be chosen at 4 p.m. that day.
