NAHANT — Lt. Gov. Karyn Polito will visit Nahant to tour Tudor Wharf, which received a $410,000 award from the Seaport Economic Council in 2016, Wednesday at 1:15 p.m.
The money will be used to stabilize the protective walls around the wharf, and for infrastructure improvements. A new boat ramp and improvements to the equipment storage areas will benefit the wharf’s recreational and commercial activities. The project is expected to be completed in the spring of 2018.
Town Administrator Jeff Chelgren, Department of Public Works Superintendent Dennis Ball, and Harbormaster Rob Tibbo will lead the tour.
The Seaport Economic Council is chaired by Polito and administered by the Executive Office of Housing and Economic Development with support from the Office of Energy and Environmental Affairs. The council challenges the 78 coastal communities of Massachusetts to leverage their geographic advantages to grow jobs and the economy. Since 2015, the council has invested more than $24 million in 56 projects across 32 communities.
