Complaints
A report of a wood chipper in a bad spot at 9:42 a.m. Tuesday on Gregory Street. A caller wanted to file a complaint against her neighbor. She stated her neighbor had a tree company in doing work and the chipper was outside her mother’s window. She stated that her mother is in hospice care and has dementia and the noise from the chipper was very distressing to her mother, which in turn was distressing to the caller.
A report of suspicious plants at 4:54 p.m. Tuesday on Bayview Road. A caller reported he had just arrived home from Maine and thought that there were marijuana plants growing in his backyard.
An irate caller stated at 8:16 p.m. Tuesday on Green Street that there had been a “dump truck parked there for days on end and doesn’t understand why they can park there when I received a ticket for parking on the street for more than two days.” Police reported the vehicles were legally parked because there was no business being conducted at the time — it’s under construction and there is no need to enforce the 15 minute signs at this time.
Vandalism
A report of two signs vandalized at 3:02 p.m. Tuesday on Lafayette Street. A caller reported she found two signs that had been vandalized. Police reported they were just street signs and they were in the garage.
A report of vandalism at 4:52 p.m. Tuesday on Commercial Street. A caller wanted to complain about a parking ticket he had received on Sunday for parking in a “loading zone” at the Commercial Street wharf. He wanted to argue about the ticket and also wanted to know the name of the person who complained about him parking there. He then came back in and wanted to report that on Sunday, while parked there, someone broke into his toolbox and filled it with fish bait. He didn’t think anything was taken and that it was just a way to get him for parking there.

A report of suspicious activity at 11:52 a.m. Monday at 72 Bristow St. A caller reported he was going through trash at the residence and he found a long gun that he believed was real, and he further stated that it had an orange tip at the end of the barrel that he thought was placed there to make the firearm look fake; at 6:03 p.m. Monday at 9 Thomas St. A caller reported he heard some in the hallway trying to gain access to his apartment with a key. He stated that that they did not gain access into the apartment, but were trying to open other doors in the hallway. Police reported it was a misunderstanding with the man involved — he had access into the building and there was no crime.
