Bishop Fenwick High School has announced its latest inductees to the Fenwick Athletics Hall of Fame. Seven alumni and one state championship Crusaders team are being inducted at a Hall of Fame banquet on Friday, Nov. 24 at 6:30 p.m.at the Montvale Plaza in Stoneham. This is the first induction since 2008, and the seventh in the school’s 58-year history. The inductees are Elaine Moulison Greenhalge (1963), Michael Grady (1978), Shannon Lyman Blacker (1997), Meghan King (2001), Andrea Slaven (2005), Bobby Tarr (2008), Becca Graves (2011) and the 2004 state champion baseball team.
Greenhalge was the only girl on the boys golf team while at Fenwick. At one time, she was the youngest club champion at the old United Shoe Golf Course, which is now Beverly Golf and Tennis.
Grady ran track and cross country at Fenwick from 1975-1978. He holds school records in the 50-yard hurdles, the indoor high jump, the 120-yard high hurdles and the 110 hurdles. Following Fenwick, Grady ran indoor and outdoor track at Worcester Polytechnic Institute.
King played varsity soccer for four years and also lettered in basketball, track and skiing. One of the top goal scorers in Eastern Massachusetts in soccer, she left Fenwick as the Crusaders’ all-time leading goal scorer. King played four years of Division 1 women’s soccer at Fairfield University. She finished her Fairfield career third all-time in goals (33).
Slaven was captain of the field hockey and basketball teams her senior year and also played one year of varsity softball. She led the GBL in scoring her senior year in field hockey and was also a two-time CCL basketball all-star. Slaven played field hockey at St. Michael’s College, earning ECAC Division II Player of the Year honors as a junior. She finished her college career as the Purple Knights’ all-time leader in several categories.
Graves helped lead Fenwick to CCL soccer championships in 2008 and 2009. A two-time lacrosse Academic All-American, she played four years at the University of New Hampshire where she was named to the 2015 America East All-Academic team.
Lyman-Blacker led the Crusaders to three straight state softball championships from 1994-1996, winning 15 consecutive tournament games in the circle. Blacker also played three years of varsity field hockey. Blacker played softball and field hockey at Monmouth University.
Tarr played football and lacrosse at Fenwick. He finished his career third all-time in Massachusetts in rushing yards with 5,601. He was the first player in the state to rush for more than 2,500 yards in back-to-back seasons. He led the state in scoring as a senior with 192 points, then moved on to Bentley, where he enjoyed a successful football career.
