LYNN — It’s the city’s latest mystery.
Who’s behind the Craigslist ad selling prime waterfront on the Lynnway near Point of Pines and Revere Beach for $14 million?
The unusual notice was placed by Jack Lister.
But the agent from Berkshire Hathaway was mum.
“I can’t talk about it,” he said.
The description offers a few clues: Development opportunity. Oceanfront land. Spectacular views. The 8.4-acre site could be the next place for a 408-unit condominium development with potential for a 20-story or 240-foot building, a hotel, or a large retail store.
Some digging online determined it sounded a lot like 810 Lynnway near the Lynnway Mart. The 368,713-square-foot (8.4 acres) property matches the ad’s description of the waterfront parcel. It has an assessed value of $6.3 million, but that’s without any new development.
Two sources confirmed those suspicions.
But a call to Patrick J. McGrath failed to get the South Harbor Association owner and manager to confirm or deny the listing is his.
“You guys must be hurting for friggin’ news, holy (expletive),” he said. “You guys are so sad, you are chasing for-sale ads, that’s pretty bad. Wouldn’t you want to wait until something is concrete? When it happens, it’s news.”
