PEABODY — A Peabody man accused of beating his daughter with a belt for installing the Snapchat app on her cellphone is being held without bail pending a dangerousness hearing in district court on Friday.
Sean Nguyen, 31, is charged with assault and battery on a child with injury and strangulation. According to police, Nguyen grabbed his 11-year-old daughter by the neck and beat her with a belt for installing the app. The girl was not injured, according to police.
The girl was taken to the Salem police station by her relatives after the assault. The Department of Children and Families was notified about the incident, police stated.
