President Donald Trump on Tuesday fired FBI Director James Comey days after officials say he asked for more resources to pursue the bureau’s investigation into Russia’s interference in the 2016 presidential election.

Comey had been criticized for his investigation into Hillary Clinton’s email practices, as well as his Oct. 28 letter to Congress. Now, the White House says Trump had been considering firing Comey since the election, the Associated Press reports.
