LYNN — If you’re out on the road, feeling lonely and so cold, you can stop by Land of a Thousand Hills.
On Wednesday, the Munroe Street coffee shop will be transformed into Luke’s Diner, where many watched the back-and-forth antics of the beloved over-caffeinated, mother-daughter duo of “Gilmore Girls.”
Land of a Thousand Hills is partnering with Netflix to promote the upcoming Nov. 25 release of a four-part return to the series.
“Gilmore Girls: A Year In The Life” will include four 90-minute chapters, each spanning one of the four seasons: winter, spring, summer and fall. The netflix series is from Dorothy Parker Drank Here Productions in association with Warner Bros. Television.
The show ran on The CW for seven seasons, or 153 episodes, which became available to stream on Netflix last year.
On the Oct. 5 anniversary of the airing of the show’s first episode in 2000, customers can visit the Star’s Hollow coffee shop without leaving the city.
Land of a Thousand Hills will be transformed with a Luke’s Diner sign, uniforms or aprons and coffee cups to recreate the atmosphere of the diner.
“Growing up as a kid, I always wanted to go to Luke’s Diner,” said Abi Cissel, the shop’s manager. “It’s really cool.”
But oy, with the poodles already! Don’t expect an appearance from Miss Patty, Sookie St. James or Paul Anka. The cafe is one of 200 selected to participate in the promotion.
Free coffee will be served from 10 a.m. to 5 p.m., Cissel said.
