A report of a speeding vehicle at 11:46 p.m. Tuesday in the vicinity of Lafayette and Maple streets. A woman reported she worked at NSMC and comes home at this time every night. She reported that at Lafayette and Maple streets, two times this week, a light colored Jeep Grand Cherokee has flown by her doing at least 60 mph heading inbound on Lafayette. She said she can never get a good description because the vehicle is going so fast but says between 11:30 and 11:45 p.m. would be a good time to sit there and monitor the intersection.

A report of a larceny/forgery/fraud at 9:24 p.m. Tuesday on Tidewinds Terrace.

Arrest

Ralph E. Dandy, 49, of 94 Foster St., was arrested and charged with operation of a motor vehicle with a license suspended for OUI and improper operation of a motor vehicle at 8:27 p.m. Tuesday.

A report of a pedestrian hit by a motor vehicle at 2:14 p.m. Tuesday in the vicinity of 20 Park St. and 2 Elliott Place. The person was transported to Salem Hospital.

A report of a motor vehicle hit and run accident at 4:03 p.m. Tuesday at J.C. Penny at 210J Andover St.; at 6:24 p.m. Tuesday at Trader Joe’s at 300 Andover St.

A report of suspicious activity at 2:10 p.m. Tuesday at Peabody Library at 82 Main St. The library director reported a known person in the library allegedly approached a 14-year-old the previous evening and offered to sell him drugs. The juvenile was believed to be with his mother who alleged she reported it to the department.

A report of a disturbance at 7:48 a.m. Wednesday at 244 Washington St.; at 8:17 a.m. Wednesday at Mobile Estates at 286 Newbury St.; at 1:24 p.m. Wednesday at Public Housing at 103 Central St.

A report of credit card fraud at 8:52 a.m. Wednesday at 6 Allens Lane.

A report of wild turkeys at 12:12 p.m. Wednesday at 101 Bartholomew St. A mailman reported the resident let him into his house because the wild, aggressive turkeys were chasing him and pecking at him. The mailman safely returned to his truck with the assistance of the Animal Control Officer.

Theft

A report of a robbery at 8:57 p.m. Tuesday in the vicinity of 60 Aborn St. A caller reported a disturbance. A victim was transported to Salem Hospital. Officers reported an unarmed robbery. Two male suspects, around 19 years old, fled the scene on foot possibly toward the direction of Pierpont Street.
