LYNN – Early election returns show that Lynn City Councilor Brendan Crighton is the winner of the Lynn-Nahant state representative race.Crighton is projected as defeating Lynn School Committee member Charlie Gallo and environmental activist Aikaterini Koudanis.The unofficial tally showed Crighton beating Gallo 1,950-1,105.Although the election is a primary, Crighton is the state representative-elect because there is no one from any other party running in the November election.All precincts are reporting with the exception of Ward 7, Precinct 2 in Lynn, where a voting machine was reportedly jammed.The Daily Item staff is reporting on this breaking story and will have more details as they become available.
