LYNN – Lynn Museum will hold a speakeasy fundraiser 7-10 p.m. Oct. 13 to celebrate its 115th anniversary and to raise funds for its educational programs.The Bootleg Bash will pay homage to the Roaring 20s as the Museum is transformed into a fun-loving speakeasy. Participants are encouraged (but only optional, of course) to get gussied up in their finest flapper or gangster garb. “G-men” are also welcomed to the party! Prizes will be awarded for most original and best-dressed costumes.This year the Museum is partnering with the Salem Jazz & Soul Festival to continue the Roaring 20s theme with the swinging sounds of Miss Lydia Harrell and The Lovely Singer Band. The non-profit Salem Jazz & Soul Festival produces free concerts and raises money for music education, and recently expanded its commitment to education by donating $1,000 to Lynn Public Schools for music programming.So kick up your heels, strike a pose in the Speakeasy Photo Booth (complete with props), and take a spin at Raffle Roulette to take a chance at winning prizes and gift certificates generously donated by area businesses. Several quality items will also be available to bid on in the live auction. Raise a glass at the cash bar while snacking on complimentary hors d’oeuvres and birthday cake. In addition, hot dogs and other fare will be available for purchase.The Bootleg Bash will be held from 7-10 p.m. at the Lynn Museum, 590 Washington St., Lynn.
