Item Staff ReportLYNN – On Nov. 1, the United States Air Force Liberty Jazz Band will perform in the Lynn Auditorium at Lynn City Hall.The band is currently on tour throughout New England and New York, performing pieces by Glenn Miller, Count Basie and Duke Ellington, as well as more contemporary pieces.”We are happy to host the United States Air Force Band of Liberty here at our beautiful Lynn Auditorium once again,” Mayor Judith Flanagan Kennedy said in a statement. “This year will be especially exciting as we are changing it up a bit with the Air Force Liberty Jazz Band. I encourage everyone to come down, young and old and enjoy this special event on us.”Jamie Marsh, booking agent and general manager for the auditorium and development director at the city Office of Economic and Community Development, said veterans service groups in the area are especially invited. The event is co-sponsored by the mayor’s office and veterans services office.He also said the event will be a chance to publicize the upcoming events at the auditorium and display the recently-renovated, 2,100-seat space.”I expect the last song will be ?In the Mood.’ That’s their trademark song,” Marsh said.Doors open at 5:30 p.m., and the concert will begin at 6:30.The event is free and open to the public. Tickets are available online at lynnauditorium.com and will be mailed out to attendees. Marsh also said no one will be turned away at the door.”The purpose is to provide entertainment to the community as a whole,” he said. “Especially the veterans of the community.”
