The St. Mary’s boys hockey team made the most of its Saturday trip to the College of the Holy Cross in Worcester. Saige Tait (Oxley) provided the lone goal in the second period, and Guy Capillo and Oxley beat the keeper in the third.Nick Hegarty recorded his second shutout of the season for the Sachems.Fenwick 6, Marian 2At the O’Keefe Center, Marian took the initial lead midway through the first period on an Andrew Lewis score but led for less than three minutes before giving up six unanswered goals.Bret Kidik tied the game and Andrew Ruby gave the Crusaders an advantage they never relinquished before the opening period concluded.Fenwick scored three goals in the second and padded its lead in the third with an additional tally.Brad Rocheville made 18 saves in the win.Winthrop 8, Lynn 1At Connery Rink, Winthrop improved to 6-2-3 and Lynn fell to 2-4-1 in a one-sided matchup.Senior Joe Scarfo scored four goals for the Vikings and Chris LeBlanc, Dylan Piwinski, Drayton Chasteen and Jake Rand added a goal apiece in the victory.Kyle Martin scored the lone goal (Jordan Morelli assist) for the Jets.Peabody 4, Swampscott 1At Rockett Arena, the Tanners never trailed on their way to victory.Peabody’s Mike Chiappini scored in the first period and Connor Purcell provided insurance for the Tanners before Gino Cresta cut the lead in half with five minutes to go in the second period.Swampscott couldn’t find the back of the net again, and Peabody received two goals from Ryan Noftle and Chiappini.Danvers 6, Salem 2At Rockett Arena, the Falcons scored five unanswered goals, two by Joe Strangie, before Salem grabbed two tallies of its own. Time ran out for the Witches but not before the Falcons added a sixth score.
