Johnny A. and James Montgomery return to Red Rock Bistro Oct. 27

SWAMPSCOTT – Boston music greats Johnny A. and James Montgomery return for an intimate night of songs and stories at the picturesque Red Rock Bistro in Swampscott next Wednesday, Oct. 27.The pair appeared together ar Red Rock in April and played to a packed house.”It was a great night,” said Red Rock owner Pauil Petersiel. “(The venue) is certainly up close and personal. The space here at Red Rock allowed for really good accoustics and everyone was literally part of the show.”Petersiel added, “These are two of the biggest names from the Boston music scene.”Johnny A., the Malden-born guitarist with rock, jazz and blues influences who spent seven years touring and recording with former J. Geils front man Peter Wolf, played Red Rock years ago while on the Boston club circuit. He released his latest album, ?One November Night,’ last spring.The energetic, harmonica-playing Montgomery is founder of the acclaimed James Montgomery Band, which he formed while attending Boston University in the 1970s.
