LYNN ? One of the hottest cover bands on the North Shore will rock Red Rock Park this evening.White Lightnin’ front man Tony Gallo said he is looking forward to the gig.”It’s a nice annual event for all ages,” he said. “Some of these folks we only see once a year so it’s almost like a reunion. I’m from Lynn and the band is rooted in Lynn so we love doing this show. It’s a great family event and a nice venue.”Gallo is one of the co-founders of the group and has been performing since he was 16. He started his music career playing guitar and he sings lead vocals and plays harmonica with White Lightnin’.During the course of his career Gallo, who prides himself on his versatility as a performer, has played with such notables as Al Vega, Paul Fontaine, Brass Force, Brian Maes and the Mid-Life Crisis Jazz Band.Glen Ahearn, who plays lead guitar and sings, started playing professionally when he was only 15 and he is one of the co-founders of White Lightnin’. He has opened for several national acts including David Johansen, James Montgomery and The Fools. Ahearn is also a composer and has written much of the original material performed by White Lightnin’.Guitarist Jeff Hanson, who also sings, has been performing for more than two decades and he played extensively with Luther Guitar Jr. Johnson and Duke Robillard.Drummer Sammy Biancuzzo got his start playing clubs in Boston in 1965. His work withMason Dixon and the Line took him to New York City where he also played with Dreams and did some studio work.The free concert is part of the Summer Series sponsored by the Friends of Lynn and Nahant Beach, a non-profit organization dedicated to the stewardship and promotion of the beach. The show begins at 6 p.m. Light refreshments will be available for sale and proceeds will go to Friends of Lynn and Nahant Beach programs. Red Rock Park is located along the beach on Lynn Shore Drive.
