REVERE – The Revere Beach National Sand Sculpting Festival is expected to draw almost 500,000 visitors to Revere Beach next week.The annual event draws master sand sculptors from all over the world including Dan Doubleday, Carl Jara and Dan Belcher. Last year’s winner Sue McGrew is expected to be on hand to defend her title and compete for a portion of the $15,000 prize money in what is one of the biggest master sand sculpting competitions on the east coast.The festivities are all located in the vicinity of the William G. Reinstein Bandstand on Revere Beach Boulevard. In addition to the sand sculpting competition, there will be a host of other activities including live entertainment.The festival, which runs July 14-18, is organized by the Revere Beach Partnership, a non-profit organization dedicated to the revitalization and preservation of America’s oldest public beach.Additional information is available online at www.reverebeachpartnership.com or by calling 866-920-SAND.
