SALEM – Alexander Fridman, the Swampscott man charged with having some 1,000 child pornography images on his computer and sending some of those images to police detectives in Swampscott and Virginia, has pleaded guilty to charges in Virginia and was sentenced to 14 years in state prison.In Salem Superior Court Wednesday, Assistant District Attorney Jean M. Curran reported to Judge Timothy Q. Feeley that Fridman received a 14-year sentence in the state of Virginia and was expected to receive another four years in March.She explained that once the second judgment is handed down, Fridman will be brought back to Massachusetts to face the multiple counts of possession of child pornography here while requesting an April 1 date for status.Until then, the case here in Massachusetts remains in limbo.Curran was unaware of exactly which charges Fridman admitted to in Virginia, but he had been charged with three felonies in that state, including child pornography, distribution of child pornography and using a computer to facilitate child pornography.Fridman, 33, who had lived with his parents at 12 Priscilla Road, Swampscott, has pleaded innocent to the charges here in Massachusetts.According to investigators, Fridman sent some 130 images over the Internet to Dumfries, Va., where a detective posed as a 13-year-old boy named David for several months.Fridman was identified by tracking his screen name to an account held by his mother.
