The Daily ItemBOSTON – One of most popular Christmas acts in the world is rolling into the Colonial Theatre in Boston this weekend for the 25th anniversary of its Christmas tour.The Mannheim Steamroller shows will feature live Christmas music with state of the art multimedia effects in an intimate setting.In 1984, Mannheim Steamroller released “Mannheim Steamroller Christmas” with the group’s signature mix of renaissance instruments with rock and roll beats. That album was a runaway hit and made the band the biggest selling Christmas music artist in history and one of the top 50 biggest selling musical acts in history.For the second year, Grammy Award winner Chip Davis is directing and producing both the East Coast and West Coast tour ensembles of Mannheim Steamroller. Davis, who founded the group, is a man of many talents.
