LYNN – A trio of men were arrested late Saturday in connection with the kidnapping and beating of a mentally challenged victim:u Lance McDonald, 23, of 50 Lynnway #811, Lynn, was arrested and charged with kidnapping for extortion, assault and battery with a dangerous weapon, ax, assault and battery on a mentally challenged person.u Christopher McPherson, 37, of 56 Baltimore St., Lynn, was arrested and charged with kidnapping for extortion, assault and battery with a dangerous weapon, ax, assault and battery on a mentally challenged person.u Christopher Kravitz, 25, of 63 Andover St., Peabody, arrested and charged with kidnapping for extortion, disguise to obstruct justice, violation of a city knife ordinance, assault and battery with a dangerous weapon, ax, assault and battery on a mentally challenged person, assault and battery with a dangerous weapon, knife, and four outstanding warrants, around 10:30 p.m. Saturday.According to Lt. Dave Brown, police received a report that a man had been kidnapped and was possibly being held somewhere in the city. During the course of the investigation, officers were able to narrow down the location to the area of the beach.?Both Lynn and Nahant police responded, and a short time later, Lynn SIU detective Mike Kelter and Lynn Sergeant Luke Dean spotted the involved parties in Lynn near the Nahant Rotary,” he said.Brown said McDonald, McPherson and Kravitz were taken into custody and charged. All three suspects are expected to be arraigned today at Lynn District Court.The victim did not appear to be injured. No further details were released by police.
