LYNN ?Central Square will be transformed into Central Scare on Thursday, Oct. 30 from 5 p.m. until 8 p.m.Central Scare is a Third Thursday event, which is sponsored by the Central Square Collaboration- a group of local businesses, non-profit organizations, the Chamber of Commerce and city of Lynn.There’s a bag of tricks n’ treats in store for children at The Black Box Theatre of Scare will be open from 5-7 p.m. in Lynn Arts. There will be mask making activities and free trick or treat bags for the first 500 children. Admission is $1 per child and adults are admitted free.Susan Halter, who is the director of LynnArts, said approximately 1,200 people attended Central Scare last year and she hopes for a good turnout again this year.”This is the first year we’ve charged admission for the haunted house,” she said. “So we’ll see.”There will not be a costume contest this year but attendees are encouraged to bring a pumpkin.”We’re asking people to bring a carved or decorated pumpkin for our pumpkin decorating contest,” she said. “The winner will be announced at 7:30 p.m. in Lynn Arts.”Top off fright night with a stop at the Lynn Museum, 590 Washington St., Lynn Museum and Historical Society for “Creepy Legends : Curses and Hauntings” spine tingling ghost stories performed by Delvena Theatre Company, which are suitable for children age four and older starting at 6:30 p.m.Unlike previous years, RAW Arts will not be offering activities for children.
