Marblehead’s softball team scored five runs in the eighth inning to give itself a comfortable lead against Winthrop on Monday. However, the Vikings battled back, scoring four of their own, but they came up just a little short as the Magicians won 8-7 in extra innings.Kate Fallon knocked in four runs on two long triples. Anna Crowley also had a nice day at the plate, going 2-for-3.Sarah Hastings picked up the win on the mound.Danvers 12, Saugus 2At Danvers, Logan Carabello went 4-for-4 with three runs scored and an RBI to lead the offense. Gabby Vega also had a nice day at the plate. She went 4-for-5 with a run scored and five RBI. Diana Bean pitched a complete game, allowing seven hits, while striking out one.Peabody 6, Classical 2At Classical, Nicole Wilson threw a three-hitter for the Tanners. MaryKate Helas went 2-for-2 with two RBI and a homer. She was also intentionally walked twice.Jennie Erekson went 2-for-4 with an RBI and a run scored to lead the Rams (10-7).Beverly 3, English 1At Beverly, Jen Mageary led off the sixth inning with a solo homer for the Bulldogs (7-10). It made the score 1-0 at the time. Tiffany Drown struck out seven and allowed two hits.Gloucester 10, Swampscott 5At Swampscott, Courtney Fletcher and Mallarie McGrath led the Big Blue. Both players went 3-for-4 with a double. McGrath had a pair of RBI while Fletcher had one. Fletcher struck out eight, but allowed nine earned runs on 13 hits.Salem 5, Revere 4At Revere, Paige Licata went 2-for-4, scoring a pair of runs and knocking in another for the Patriots (5-14). Kerry Roach also had a nice day at the plate. She went 3-for-4 with an RBI.
