Lynnfield senior Sarah O’Neill found herself in the North girls singles championship match for the second time in three years on Sunday at Newton Racquet Club. And her opponent was a familiar one – Newton South’s Lauren Hollender – in quest of an astounding fourth consecutive singles title.Problem was that somebody forgot to tell O’Neill that history was on the horizon.The Pioneers ace breezed through the first set, 6-2, and then rallied from a 3-2 second set deficit to win the last four games of the match in a straight set victory that gave the program its first individual singles champion.”It’s quite an accomplishment,” Lynnfield coach Craig Stone said. “And it was a little bit of sweet revenge for what happened in ’07.”O’Neill came into the tournament as the No. 2 seed and breezed by Beverly’s Sabrina Salmela, 6-1, 6-2, in the opening round.
