It may not have been exactly Roger Federer and Rafael Nadal battling at Wimbledon, but for tennis drama on the North Shore, it came close.The third singles match between Anthony Cucuzza of Saugus and Mike Olfzak of Danvers lasted over two and a half hours. When the match had ended, Cucuzza had earned the win, 6-0, 6-7 (4-7), 6-4, to give Saugus a 3-2 victory over host Danvers.Cucuzza was dealt everything he could handle by the sophomore Olfzak, playing in his first varsity match.”I had to play Oflzak today and after the first set I thought he was going to pass out, he was so nervous,” said Danvers coach Ken Rawson. “But he found himself in the second set and played a great match.”Also winning for Saugus were Nick Bertrand (6-0, 6-1) and Brian Boyajian (6-3, 6-0).For Danvers, Kevin McManus and Mike DeSantis won in first doubles (6-3, 6-2) and Bob Fuller and Matt Costanza won in second doubles (6-1, 6-2).Revere 3, Salem 2At Wilmington, the Patriots swept doubles and won in second singles to keep an undefeated record in the Northeastern Conference.
