SAUGUS ? As comedian Bobby Slayton gets ready to open his new show at the Tropicana in Las Vegas, North Shore residents will have the opportunity to see the pit bull of comedy, along with Lenny Clarke this weekend at Giggles.Slayton, who has been called “armed and dangerous” by the New York Daily News, warns people his show may not be for everyone.”I will do my show and all I am going to do is make people laugh,” Slayton said. “But you are not going to get a show like you would from Carrot Top or someone like that, and if you are offended by language, please do not come.”Slayton, who just ended a long-term gig at Hooters Casino in Las Vegas and is set to open at the Tropicana the first week of May, said he loves playing clubs like Giggles.”What I like about Giggles is that you have a crowd of regular people who are smart,” Slayton said. “The people at Giggles are there to laugh, and that is not necessarily true about the Vegas crowds. The audience in Vegas is there to kill time or they got a deal on tickets and are there to save money.”Slayton and Clarke will be performing at Giggles Thursday (8:30 p.m.) along with Johnny Pizzi. Friday’s two shows (7:15 p.m. and 9:30 p.m.) with Ira Proctor are sold out. Slayton is scheduled to perform Saturday (7:15 p.m. and 9:30 p.m.) with Proctor and Pizzi.”Giggles is a good old-fashioned comedy club and this will be a fun gig,” Slayton said. “I played Giggles three years ago and it is great. They let me do whatever I want.”Doing whatever he wants to do is an important aspect for Slayton, who says no matter what you do, you are never going to please everyone in the audience.”To be frank, I am not there to please everyone; I am there to do the best show I can,” Slayton said. “I do know this: I will be much funnier than Lenny Clarke.”There are not a lot of comics I like to hang with but Lenny is definitely one of them,” Slayton said. “Lenny makes me laugh. Not just when he is performing, but off stage as well. This will just be a fun weekend.”For tickets to see Slayton Thursday or Saturday night, call Giggles, which is located at Prince Pizzeria on Route 1in Saugus, at 781-233-9950.
