LYNN – The woman who made headlines for filing criminal trespassing charges against three city inspectors in the spring was arrested Monday for allegedly raping and sodomizing her boyfriend during several dominatrix sessions, police said.Ariana Murrell, 41, of 35 Baltimore St. #1R, Lynn, was arrested and charged with sodomy, rape, assault and battery with a dangerous weapon and assault and battery. She was arraigned Tuesday in Lynn District Court where a clerk ordered her held on $500 bail and to return to court March 11.Murrell filed criminal charges in June against the three Inspectional Service Department workers, but later agreed to dismiss the charges, after she said they illegally entered her home to serve a cease and desist order because she was illegally building a room in her house.Police now are investigating whether the illegal room was going to be used as a dungeon. The victim told police he believes that is why the room was being constructed, according to a police report. The 46-year-old victim came to the city police station Monday to report that his relationship with Murrell “changed from that of a boyfriend to that of a servant/sex slave,” a police report said.Among the victim’s allegations against Murrell, he said that one time she gave him six lashings with a whip for not agreeing to take pornographic photos of himself to post on the Internet. The victim also alleges the 5-foot-7, 200-pound Murrell bound his wrists and feet together with bondage restraints and sodomized him for not adhering to her sexual demands.Police say the victim was also forced to put on costumes and take part in sexual activity with other men Murrell brought into her home. One of the reasons the victim cited for reporting the alleged abuse was that Murrell has complete control over his finances and his passport and felt she had total control over him. Murrell works at Liberty Tax Services at 175 Lewis St., which is where police arrested her at about 8 p.m. Monday. The victim said in a police report he and Murrell were in a relationship since October 2005 but that her interest in being a dominatrix grew in the past six months before her behavior got “out of control.” Police said Murrell’s interest was sparked over a dominatrix Web site, but did not list the site’s address.Police are also investigating whether the whip mentioned by the victim was the same whip Murrell allegedly used to discipline her 13-year-old grandson. The Department of Children and Families is looking into that child abuse claim, police said.Murrell reached an out-of-court compromise with city officials in November when she dropped the criminal trespassing and burglary charges against the inspection workers who came into her home. Officials were ready to drop code violations against Murrell, but said they were unable after a new inspection revealed, “There are too many violations to cite,” City Attorney Vincent Phelan said at the time.A civil rights lawsuit Murrell filed against the Lynn police department is still pending upon last check. Murrell claims police violated her rights in 2002 when pepper spray was used to disperse a loud party which she and several children attended.
