The scrapbook-like artwork documents the continuously evolving conditions of the artist’s life experience in a multi-cultural setting.”Though I could not possibly illustrate real life experience or dreams in one body of work, I operate under the old saying ‘Dream reveals reality, reality reflects dream,'” she said. “I intend to create a compressed environment where I can revisit and reflect.”Sand T said each piece Each piece is created on hardboard or acrylic glass which is fixed to a treated cradle to compliment the face of the work and create whole pieces without the need for investing in framing or further treatment before hanging.”The highly polished surface is the coating of epoxy resin,” she explained. “I started using epoxy resin in 2000 for the primary intention to protect the surface of my painting., and then started to experiment with it on acrylic glass. The epoxy resin is used to encase the work as well as to magnify pieces of the imagery to highlight the focal points of the work and bend light to create both intimate and immense spaces.”Sand T has exhibited her work in the United States, Malaysia, Singapore and Taiwan. Her work resides in public and private art collections worldwide, including collections in Australia, United States, Taiwan, Singapore, Malaysia, Hong Kong, Germany and Japan.Gallery director Jocelyn Almy-Testa, said Sand T is an accomplished artist.”Through these works, Sand T tells stories about her life experience growing up in the “melting pot” city of Malacca, Malaysia,” she said. “The subject matter of her work ranges from dreamscapes to explorations of the various cultures which influence her personal life as well as her visual language as an artist.”
