The Salem State College men’s hockey team defeated Worcester State, 6-4, at the O’Keefe Center on Monday. Sophomore center Justin Fox recorded five goals and one assist for the Vikings (3-1). Fox has eight goals and nine assists through the team’s first four games.Fox’s wingmates, Jeff Tellier and Mike Genovese, also figured prominently in the scoring. Tellier had a goal and three assists, while Genovese had three assists.The game had an unexpected postscript. A half-hour after the Vikings had won, the Salem Fire Department visited the arena due to a suspicious odor.”That’s a first,” said Salem State athletic director Tom Roundy, who was present at the arena. He added, “Everyone’s fine.”
