It was founded in 1498 by Holy Roman Emperor Maximilian I and six centuries later continues to delight music aficionados around the world.The Vienna Boys Choir will be Lynn Veterans Memorial Auditorium for one performance only on Dec. 9 at 7:30 p.m.Economic and Community Director James Marsh said the city is delighted the Choir is performing here.?We are excited to continue our tradition of holiday concerts here by bringing the oldest and most well know Choir in the world to the greater Lynn community this holiday season,” he said. “We believe it’s important to bring high quality shows like this to the Lynn Auditorium from a community perspective but also from an economic one.”No group of child musicians is more renowned than the incomparable Vienna Boys Choir, which continues to delight music lovers. Today there are approximately 100 members, who range in age from 10 to 14, divided into four touring choirs. The four choirs give 300 performances a year in front of almost half a million people. Each group spends nine to eleven weeks of the school year on tour. They visit virtually all European countries, and they are frequent guests in Asia, Australia and the Americas.The famed Vienna Boys Choir continue to delight music lovers with their purity of tone, distinctive charm and a diverse, crowd-pleasing repertoire. The choir recently completed one of the biggest and most successful tours in its 500 year history.The Vienna Boys Choir has its own school in the Augartenpalais, a baroque palace in Vienna. Beginning with kindergarten, boys and girls are provided with a complete musical and general elementary education and at age 10 the most talented boys are selected to join the choir.The performance in Lynn will include holiday favorites such as “Winter Wonderland,” “White Christmas” and “Jingle Bells.Tickets for the Mills City Management Inc. show are $45.50 and $55.50 per person.
